VTBF’s New England Themed Burlesque Competition

Here’s how it works.

 

Those who want to compete:

Come up with a burlesque act that has a New England theme to it.  Pop Culture, History, Politics, Local Culture, Food, Religion, Etc Etc… As long as it’s got a tie to New England and is performed within the genre of burlesque, the act qualifies. 

    

Up to 6 submissions will be incorporated into the Vermont Burlesque Festival.  VTBF producers will choose what they feel are the top 6 submissions.  If selected, your act will become part of the festival and the audience will ultimately decide who the top 3 winners are.

What the winner receives:

 

• $500 Cash Prize

• An invitation to defend their title at succeeding festival.  

• Travel stipend of $200 for the succeeding festival. 

• 1 Night of Lodging during for the succeeding festival.

• Opportunity to perform your act on stage during the VTBF's Saturday Night Showcase of the same year.

• Opportunity to perform your act as an encore during the competition event of the succeeding year. 

• Prize Pack from our Sponsors (Specifics TBA)

    

 

So here’s how it works. 

 

• Shoot video of your act. Get as creative as you wish (while staying within the rules)

• Include in your video (as an introduction, prior to your performance) an explanation of why your act is New England themed.  

• Send application fee

• Fill out VTBF competition application.

• Upload your New England themed competition video here…

Deadline to get your video submitted is Dec 1, 2023.

Announcement of Acceptance into the competition will be no later than Dec 10th.
