PREPARE THESE ITEMS IN ADVANCE BEFORE REGISTERING
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO APPLY..
We have worked hard to keep this process as simple as possible. If you have your materials ready to go, the application should take less than 15 to 20 minutes to complete.
-
Use a Computer: We highly recommend using a desktop or laptop computer. While mobile devices and tablets can work, mobile forms occasionally glitch for unknown reasons (submit via tablet at your own risk).
-
Contact Info: You must be willing to share a valid email address and phone number so our team can reach you (double check that your email and phone # are written correctly on the form).
-
Performance Video Link: You will need an active link to your performance video (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.).
-
Note for YouTube users: Please ensure your video visibility is set to "Unlisted" or "Public" rather than "Private" so our panel can view it. (Need help? Click here for a quick 2-minute tutorial on how to upload and share an unlisted YouTube video).
-
And that’s it!
When will you hear back from us?
Applications will be reviewed periodically until the application window closes or when all 12 slots are full—whichever comes first. Email notifications will be sent to all applicants upon final review, or no later than 2–3 weeks after the application window officially closes -- September-ish.
If You Are Selected to Perform...
Once accepted, you will be directed to a formal performer registration portal. At that stage, we will collect the details needed to build your act into the showcase, including:
-
Your Music Files: High-quality MP3 or WAV files. Please format your filename using your performer name and act title. (Example: LukeWarm_GirlsJustWanna_CyndiLauper.mp3)
-
A Valid Photo ID: A clear photo of your legal ID displaying your legal name, photo, and birth date.
-
A Professional Headshot: High-resolution images for promotional and program use.
-
Legal Releases: Signed liability waivers and photo/video/webcast releases.
-
Technical Specifications: Your lighting cues, stage layout needs, and audio requirements.
-
...and a few final details to make your showcase flawless!
Last Few Notes
-
Right to Refuse: The producers of the Vermont Burlesque Festival reserve the right to refuse any application, registration, attendance, individual or group whose behavior or submission violates our established Festival Codes of Conduct.
